HyperTrans Tool Description
HyperTrans is a batch mode multifunction tool that
allows you to translate (resolve) IPv4 addresses to hostnames, hostnames
to IP addresses, verify and audit IPv4 address/hostname mappings,
and determine IRR/AS routing information for IP addresses. HyperTrans
is an acronym for "hyperfast translation" of IPv4 addresses to hostnames
and vice versa. Two modes of operation are possible: the first
uses the default DNS servers assigned to your computer; the
second uses a DNS that you have specified.Batch Translation Tool for resolving IP addresses
or hostnames. Create a list of hostnames or IP addresses to
be translated using several different methods including manual entry,
IP range generation, or import of a text file (see image #2 below).
Pressing the Translate button initiates a parallel, multi-threaded
action of resolving IP addresses to hostnames or vice versa using
your default DNS. Upon completion of the resolving process, we display
the country that is assigned or allocated the IPv4 address. See
image #1 below.
DNS Verify Tool. This tool takes a list
of IPv4 addresses, reverse resolves them as a batch to hostnames
using your default DNS, then takes each hostname and resolves it
back to an IPv4 address. IP address mismatches are shown in red
as in the sample image #3 below. This important feature allows you
to check a DNS for errors. This feature runs rapidly over the whole
list of IP addresses. There is a similar feature on the
Name Server Lookup tool that
processes one IP address at a time instead of in batch mode.
Get IP AS Info Tool for obtaining IRR/AS
Routing Information. This tool provides the ability to do batch
queries for the IRR/AS routing info for the IPv4 addresses in the
working list. See image #4 below for an example of the results.
