Set Preferences Description
Set Preferences allows you to set parameters which
globally affect the operation of the program. You can set:
- Fonts. This
setting affects the fonts you view for results and the printed
fonts.
- Process Priority.
This controls the base priority of the current NetScanTools
Pro process.
- Email Results Protocol.
Most tools allow you to email the results of the data gathered
with the functions on the tool. This selection controls whether
MAPI protocols are used to communicate with a program such as
Outlook or SMTP protocols are used to directly email your message
from a standard SMTP mail server.
- ICMP Packet Generation.
This sets the method of generating ICMP packets. Administrative
Privileges are required to use Raw Sockets.
- Temporary File Cleanup.
Selections for deleting temporary files at the end of each session.
- Automatic Check for Program Update.
This controls whether or not the program starts your web browser
to check for any updates. It also controls the duration between
checks.
- Web Browser.
This controls which web browser you want to use and whether
it is launched separately for the items in the 'online' group.
It also controls the base font size used in the web pages.
- Miscellaneous.
This group contains miscellaneous options and manual deleting
of temporary files and button coloring.
